JL Music Teams up with Cosi

JL Music is delighted to announce it has teamed up with Andrew 'Cosi' Costello for the next series of travel show South Aussie With Cosi.

JL Music will provide access to their catalogue exclusively for the next 8 episodes of the show which will sceen on Channel 9, Imparja and Southern Cross networks.

South Aussie with Cosi showcases great SA locations for practical, affordable family adventures.

Its going to be fantastic to watch Cosi in some of the states best locations, backed by some of the state best music.

The Killgirls head to the UK for The Great Escape Festival

The Killgirls have been invited to perform at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton UK in May 2012, selected to play out of 80 acts that showcased at this year's Fuse Festival in Adelaide.

The Great Escape has been firmly established internationally as the leading event for showcasing new music and has launched the careers of artists like Crystal Castles, The Gossip, The Wombats, The XX and The Temper Trap.

Since the release of their second EP 'Animal' in late 2011, they've delivered their heavy hitting electro rock sound in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, toured with Dead Letter Circus, played Parklife and will headline 'The End of the World' party at Barrio for The Adelaide Festivals' closing night.

The Killgirls are excited to make the most of UK touring hookups after The Great Escape to play Manchester, Berlin and Sound City Festival in Liverpool, with other cities yet to be announced.

Before heading overseas to showcase to some of the biggest names in the music industry, the band will play a special farewell show in Adelaide, May 4th at Rocket Bar. One not to miss!

Echo and The Empress nominated for award

Aussie Indie Pop Band, Echo and The Empress of South Australia join just four other artists from around the world in the nomination for best Pop Song Category in the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards. In total there are more than 300 exceptional self-released and independent label artists, as well as former major label acts named today by Music Resource Group (MRG) as Nominees in The 11th Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential awards program for independent bands and fans.

Echo and the Empress is nominated for their song Balloon, among an eclectic mix of established and emerging artists.

SA Musicians Broadcast From Bus Stops

South Australian musicians will gain exposure in a very different way this month through an innovative marketing campaign launched by Adelaide-based People's Choice Credit Union. Two CBD bus stops and one Glenelg tram stop have been transformed to feature five separate headphone sockets providing different genres of music – rock, classical, R&B, country and pop and the best part is the artists are all SA-based. eMDee rocks the Montreal International Fireworks Festival

..... The display began with a performance by eMDee to the accompaniment of very large flame effects, the largest I recall seeing at La Ronde produced purely by pyrotechnics. The synchronization between the music and the fireworks became quickly apparent and the audience soon became mesmerized by the pulsing rhythm of the drums and didgeridoo, the range of sounds produced by the latter being quite exceptional. THE KILLGIRLS ROCK AAMI STADIUM

Adelaide band The Killgirls are set to bring their electro-rock anthems to Adelaide's biggest football audience, when they perform at the entrance to the 50,000+ capacity AAMI Stadium before the massive Round 4 Showdown between the two home teams, when Port Adelaide take on the Adelaide Crows.

The Killgirls track 'Set Yourself on Fire' is Adelaide's official theme for the 2011 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, and the AFL and SANFL is delighted to invite the band to entertain the crowd before the big match. Read more>

JL Music Publishing is delighted to announce that they have signed a long term deal with Australian gothic folk act Brillig. The new arrangement will see JL Music represent the band's latest album and back catalogue for licensing and syncronisation worldwide.

Combining sea shanties, murder ballads, tender tales of lost love & lost life, Brillig's inimitable style is enchantingly melancholic, beautifully tragic, and strangely uplifting. Signed to Germany's Black Rain indie label for European releases, whilst remaining independent in Australia, Brillig released their debut acoustic album "The Red Coats" across Europe, UK, Russia and North America in June 2009 and in Australia/NZ in 2010.

CASEY BARNES SIGNS WITH JL MUSIC PUBLISHING

JL Music Publishing is pleased to announce the signing of Gold Coast based singer songwriter Casey Barnes to their artist roster.

As a finalist on Australian Idol in 2009, Casey Barnes already had established himself as an artist to watch in Australia, supporting Bryan Adams, Eskimo Joe and Vanessa Amorosi amongst others. Since then Casey's music has reached audiences accross the globe, with the Marco Demark remix of his version of Elton Johns 'Tiny Dancer' reaching number 1 on the UK and European dance charts, extensive touring in the US and Europe and strong radio support for the two single releases 2010 EP Red Lion Motel.

Casey has had a great start to 2011, with most recent single "Never Break You" debuting at #6 on the ARIA charts and #1 on the AIR charts whilst being added to commercial radio accross the country.

THE TOUCH WIN APRA'S EMILY BURROWS AWARD

Adelaide's dance-punk outfit The Touch has taken out the 10th Anniversary Emily Burrows Award.

Members of the band Josh Moore, Shane Lock, Craig Lock, Justin Walkden and Chad Hooper accepted the awards at a presentation held last week.

The $4,000 Award is sponsored by the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and is awarded each year to recognise and further the professional development of emerging original music artists or bands in South Australia.

TRACER SIGNS EUROPEAN RECORD DEAL

Adelaide hard rock act Tracer proudly announced today that it has signed a long term record deal with Dutch label Cool Green Recordings (a sub label of Mascot Records). Currently touring Europe and on the back of a highly successful performance at Germany's Popkomm Festival, the band was pleased to put pen to paper in RoHerdam last night.

The Touch Win Nova FM's Im with the Band Competition

Adelaide band The Touch are officially Australia’s hottest emerging music act, beating tough competition to be crowned the official winner of Nova’s I Am With The Band competition today.

Beating a staggering 1,065 bands that entered the competition through Nova FM, The Touch were told this afternoon by Nova’s Ryan, Monty & Wippa that they had won $10,000 as well as national airplay on Nova stations to help them along their journey to stardom. Read more>

Adelaide rockers Tracer have announced a formal partnership with Sound Contact Management effective immediately.

With their feet barely back on home soil form a successful European tour, the band will be managed by Drew Landt at Sound Contact who will be bringing his never ending wisdom and expertise to help progress the bands career.
